Ayalew Taye
Ayalew Taye serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Equity. In this capacity, Ayalew provides administrative support, coordinates special events and manages the daily affairs of the office. Prior to this role, Ayalew served as a Public Affairs Specialist and Special Assistant to the Vice President for Public Affairs at Georgetown University.
Ayalew is a Georgetown alum, having received his BA and MA and has a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion Management. During his undergraduate years, Ayalew ran on the acclaimed Georgetown Cross Country and Track and Field teams where he was a Co-captain, the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Runner of the Year, Big East Champion and was on the Big East all-academic team.
Prior to his current role, Ayalew interned for the State Department at the US Mission to the United Nations in New York and worked at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts as a teaching assistant.
Originally from Ethiopia, Ayalew’s home is in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and currently lives in Washington, DC.
