Workforce Diversity
Georgetown is firmly committed to a culture of diversity and inclusion. To this end, Georgetown strives to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
In accordance with 41 C.F.R. § 60-300.44(a) and 41 C.F.R. § 60-741.44(a), Georgetown maintains a Policy and has practices applicable to Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans. They are as follows:
Georgetown University’s policy is not to discriminate against any faculty or staff, or any applicant for employment, on the basis of disability, protected veteran status, or any other class or characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. This Policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruitment, hiring, appointment, training, promotion, compensation, benefits, transfer, termination, education tuition assistance, and social and recreational programs. All employment decisions are based only on valid job requirements, and on the individual’s education, training, relevant experience, performance, and competencies. Georgetown’s commitment to equal employment opportunity includes making reasonable accommodation to the known physical or mental impairments of otherwise qualified Individuals with Disabilities to the extent that such accommodation does not impose an undue hardship on the conduct of its business.
With the full support of its Leadership Team, and as required by law, Georgetown maintains an Affirmative Action Program for Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans. The Program is designed to enhance the employment opportunities of qualified Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans, and contains an audit and reporting system for measuring its effectiveness.
Faculty and staff, as well as applicants for employment, shall not be subjected to harassment, intimidation, threats, coercion, discrimination, or retaliation because they are an Individual with a Disability or a Protected Veteran; because they filed a complaint or assisted or participated in an activity protected by any federal, state, or local law requiring equal employment for Individuals with Disabilities or Protected Veterans; or because they opposed any act or practice made unlawful by, or exercised any right protected by, any federal, state, or local law requiring equal opportunity for Individuals with Disabilities or Protected Veterans.
Georgetown has designated the following official to coordinate and monitor compliance activities under Georgetown’s Affirmative Action Program for Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans: Olabisi Ladeji Okubadejo, Associate Vice President for Equal Opportunity and Compliance, at olabisi.okubadejo@georgetown.edu. Any concern or complaint may be presented orally or in writing to Ms. Okubadejo.
