Office of Affirmative Action Programs

Welcome and Mission

As Director of the Office of Affirmative Action Programs, I welcome you to our website and the resources the office provides in support of both the mission of the University and the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Affirmative Action (IDEAA). Georgetown is a Catholic and Jesuit student centered research university which receives federal grants and is mandated by our dedication to social justice, Ignation traditions and applicable federal and local laws to insure the prevention and elimination of any discriminatory practices in its academic and employment activities.

Our office is a regulatory compliance, proactive unit within the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Affirmative Action which supports the founding principle that work and learning among people of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs is best embodied in the diversity of our students, staff, and faculty. The Office helps to support the IDEAA’s mission of sustaining a caring and inclusive community of learners and colleagues by its commitment to affirmative action and equal opportunity. The Office provides university leadership with both qualitative and quantitative data to assure the continuance of this commitment.  Georgetown University is committed to promoting the full realization of equal employment opportunity through an affirmative action program, in compliance with all applicable laws. The University’s Affirmative Action Plan may be reviewed upon request within IDEAA.

It is our hope that you find this website a resourceful tool to support your mission of inclusiveness.
