Procedures for Requesting an Accommodation

It is University practice to provide a consistent and methodical approach in addressing requests for reasonable accommodations. The following procedures are meant to establish consistent practices and to be helpful to both applicants and employees who seek accommodations. Managers who receive such requests must work in concert with IDEAA to assure a collaborative process. To request an accommodation, please contact IDEAA at (202) 687-4798 or you may submit an accommodation request form for an applicant or an employee.

Determining the appropriate accommodation for individuals is done on a case-by-case basis, depending on the circumstances of the particular employment situation and the necessary documentation. Georgetown University shall provide reasonable accommodations for employees or applicants with disabilities, religious needs, or conditions relating to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions, upon request, to ensure that individuals have equal access to employment opportunities.
